The shell is adjustable so as to fit any head size.  Your hat size will be sufficient measurement for determining which size shell you need.

To determine the length you need for your face guard I will need your head length.  This can be calculated by standing facing a wall and measuring from the top of your head (as if to measure your height), then marking where the bottom of your chin is on the wall.  The distance in between gives your head length.  Take the measurement three times and calculate the average.

Head Gear Fitting Instructions

*** Do not over tighten adjustment screw behind ear or it could cause the material to crack***

1.  To put head gear on, unsnap behind ear on one side if necessary. If possible slide helmet own and remove without unsnapping

     face guard
2.  Attached face guard on head gear.
      A.  Two straps connect face guard to head gear at the forehead region.
      B.  Adjust hard shell chin strap in position with straps for secure and snug fitting head gear.
      C.  The side straps , one on either side of head gear stabilize the face guard with adjustments to fit different shape faces.
3.  The shell of the headgear can be adjusted for different hat sizes. Each unit of head gear has 4 adjustment screws. Two on top,

one on either side and two behind ear one on either side, which double as a male snap.
      A.  Loosen the four adjusting screws one complete turn. **DO NOT REMOVE SCREW**
      B.  Put head gear on with one hand at rear of head gear and other in front, push the front portion of the head gear back and

back towards the front with other hand until it fits snugly.
      C.  Once you have established the proper fit and have made certain the adjustment is equal on each side of head gear, tighten

            the four screws.
      D.  Adjust the chin strap as tightly as comfortably possible. When the helmet is fitting properly it is snug not tight and the face

guard should pass slightly underneath the chin strap.
      E.  A competitor that has not used a helmet should do some neck strengthening exercises such as resistance neck rolls.
      F.  The shell fit should be so that the ear pieces come half way down the ear lobe.

FOR BEST RESULTS, THIS HEAD GEAR MUST FIT SNUGLY, BE FREE FROM CRACKS, FACE GUARD SHOULD PASS SLIGHTLY UNDERNEATH THE CHIN STRAP, AND HEAD GEAR MUST REMAIN SECURELY IN POSITION WHEN ADJUSTED FOR A PROPER FIT. REPLACE HEAD GEAR AND POLYCARBONATE EYE SHIELD IF IMPAIRED IN ANY WAY. EYE
SHIELD MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE FACE GUARD WITH NYLON TIES PROVIDED IN AT LEAST 12 LOCATIONS YOU MAY CHOOSE TO WEAR A NECK ROLL WITH HEAD GEAR SO AS TO RESTRICT WEIGHT OF HEAD GEAR TO THE FORWARD POSITION. OFFSET NECK ROLL AS NEEDED IN FRONT TO ALLOW FOR THE CHIN TUCK POSITION.
